Pre planning:
Unless it is peak seasons we don’t usually book, however, I would advise you to book ahead to avoid disappointment, particularly if you require one of the 12 powered sites. Online booking is available.
Providing it is not a total fire ban camp fires are permitted. You can purchase small bags of fire wood on site, however, I suggest you take some with you.
Pre-pack food and beverages. Although the town centre of Singleton is only about a 40 minute drive from Lake St Clair I would prefer to stay put once I arrive. Limited access to supplies once on-site.
CASHLESS so remember the plastic. The kiosk is open on weekends.

We camped at the Lake St. Clair Campgrounds as part of the NSW Parks Service. We used an Unpowered site (for 2 Adults per night $25) Map
Lake St. Clair
Lake St Clair is at the foot hill of Mount Royal Range, National Park and is approximately 34km from Singleton (Hunter Valley, NSW). You will be spoilt for choice with approximately 38 hectares of unpowered camp space, every site offering spectacular views. For those that are not set up for off road there are shower and toilet facilities available, however, depending on where you set up you may have a short stroll.
Lake St Clair is a popular weekend get away for us given its only an hour up the road, however, once you are there you are truly taken to another world. The serenity and views are up there with some of the best you will find anywhere. For us this is a place to unwind and relax, throughout the day we prefer to be out on the water and of an afternoon we enjoy watching the sunset whilst polishing of our favourite bottle of red (or cold beer).
Wrap Up
Lake St Clair offers something for everyone, kick back in your favorite chair and read a book, explore the land on foot or bike, take the sup board or kayaks our for a paddle or fire up the ski boats or jet skis. If fishing is more your thing pull start the tinnie and head of to catch some bass or perch.

How We Became THE GLAMPAVanS
So who are the Glampavans? We have been married for 19 years, we have adult children whom are self sufficient, and are the proud owners of a French bulldog named Baxter. We live a very busy life like most trying to juggle full time work and a social life. We love spending time with family and friends, we have a passion for food, travel, the great outdoors and are always up for a challenge. When we hit our 40’s our perception of life changed. We no longer wanted to be a slave to our work and mortgage, we wanted to live our best life, together, sooner rather than later. We purchased a caravan and started to explore a little of this country and realised there was so much more we wanted to see. We plan to hit the road in September 2021 with our fur baby for a minimum of 12 months, however, between now and then we have planned to take some shorter adventures that we will share along the way. We will free camp when we can and also support local parks and businesses along the way
